Modelling drill bit performance
When designing a bit, a designer has at his disposal software for automated drafting of a profile and bottom-hole coverage, for evaluation of dulling characteristics, selection of optimal parameters of bit hydraulics, load balancing to improve bit steerability as well as analysis of field test results using advanced statistical processing methods. Besides, to check and improve math algorithms that are key for the bit simulation software, we use benchmark tests, which make possible physical modelling of a drill bit performance on bottom hole.
Using these methods enables us to shorten lead-time for new bit designs, improve their efficiency and reliability due to optimizing design and technology parameters at the design stage, as well as provide an opportunity for creating drill bits for specific applications taking into account technological environment and lithology.
